The Bee Museum Pop-up

"More Than Just Honey, Honey"

More than a museum, this immersive experience is a living experiment in how curiosity, connection, and community can inspire conservation action in a thought-provoking and beautiful way. Come get to know the honey bee like never before.

A child stands by a large window indoors, touching a large hanging woven beehive sculpture. In the foreground, oversized sunflower decorations with green leaves are visible against a bright window.

Did You Know...

The Bee Museum provides over 130 "un-bee-lievable" honey-bee facts curated in collaboration with the University of California, Davis Master Beekeeeper Program.

Girl Power

All the bees you see on flowers are female. Female bees collect flower nectar, transport it in a special “honey stomach,” and pass it from bee to bee. Only female bees can sting or make honey. One honey bee makes only 1/12th of a teaspoon of honey in her entire life.

Honey Fraud

What do Louis Vuitton and honey have in common?  Both are two of the most counterfeited items on the market. A study by the Honey Authenticity Project found that up to 27% of honey samples from around the world were of questionable authenticity, either diluted with syrups, sugar, or containing undeclared additives.

Dr. Bee

Beekeeping has been used as a therapeutic tool for veterans with PTSD. Listening to rhythmic buzzing, in the 200-400 Hz range, acts as white noise and may reduce stress, promote tranquility, boost mindfulness, lower anxiety, and improve focus.

"What a pleasure it was to see all that you've done in raising bee awareness for the consumer and beyond. Your installation is thought-provoking and beautiful."
